Petaluma

Petaluma is the first stop when entering Sonoma County, just north of Marin, and is a perfect marriage of all that the two counties have to offer. Known for a major part of California’s dairy production, this is the Egg Capital of the world! Dairies, farms, and farmhouses dabble the country roads just outside of an increasingly bustling town with new housing developments grazing the freeway. The CA-101 separates the East and West sides of Petaluma, offering each their own personality – the East side with less farming and more suburb-like neighborhoods, and the Westside with less conventional shopping, older history and historic properties. Petaluma is wonderful year round, and even better in the Summer when the annual Butter & Eggs Day festival and Parade is in full swing to honor the town’s rich farming background and present day industry. The farm-to-table lifestyle is real here! A drive out to Bodega Bay and the coast is easy from here, totaling just about 40 minutes on expansive country roads. Whether your vision is a historic home, a waterfront condo, a restored farmhouse with acreage or a house with modern construction, Petaluma does not disappoint.
